Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support
September 2025

Hello from Mary.

What a glorious summer we have had and I can see an abundant harvest of apples on many trees around.

I have been busy training for my fundraising event in September -Swimming the Serpentine with my brother Gordon! As the team have observed, my training is ‘doing a mile with a smile’ …some in Flamingos and some in the sea. I do prefer the sea! For more info please see below.

Secondary Breast Cancer Support Group – Yeovil

We’ll be holding it in Yeovil at the Westlands venue on the third Tuesday of each month, starting on Tues 16th September.

It’ll be 11am-1pm for this first one and most sessions, and then from 11am-1:30pm roughly every 3 months (for ‘speaker sessions’ where I’ll invite local expert speakers to talk to the group about different topics).

Facilitated by a qualified counsellor who we’ve recently recruited for the role, it’ll be a safe, confidential space each month for people with a secondary breast cancer diagnosis to meet each other, form connections and talk about whatever’s on their mind. It’s free to attend, and refreshments will be provided.

We also have an Access Fund, provided by Asda, to support people in accessing the group if they’re struggling financially to get there. We can cover the cost of regular taxi bookings, for example. More info is here: Access Fund | Breast Cancer Now

You can register on our website here: http://breastcancernow.org/Living-with-Yeovil.
