Client Support Manager – Part Time
Application closing date 17th October 2024
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support.
We are a local charity supporting anyone affected by any cancer. Founded in 2018, since then we have grown significantly and are now located in our own premises at Cross Keys House, adjacent to Axminster Hospital.
We are looking for a compassionate and organised person to join our charity to help us support our clients and work with our team of staff and volunteers. The role will need to be filled by someone with professional people skills, who is comfortable discussing support with anyone in our community affected by cancer. The individual will also need to be proficient in Microsoft, including excel and ideally have experience working with databases.
Client Support Manager
Contract: 2 years, fixed term
Hours: 10 hours per week Mon/Tues
Salary: from £14 hourly depending on experience.
Location: Cross Keys House, Axminster
Benefits: 28 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time hours)
Through our team of professional partners (which includes nutritionists, counsellors, creative teachers and therapists), we support people impacted by cancer. We offer support to family members who are supporting loved ones, pre-bereavement and bereavement support. Our aim is to enable the client to have control over their support so we offer a wide variety of referral options. All services offered are free to the clients with very little waiting time for key services such as counselling. As client support manager, you will enable and manage these referrals.
You will be a dynamic, ‘can-do’ member of the team, who will work with the Charity Managing Director and Communication Manager to offer clients support. This is very much a client facing role, where you will be a first point of contact for clients engaging with the charity, often when they are feeling vulnerable. You will engage with new clients, including registration, as well as existing clients already known to ALCS. You will be responsible for data entry into our database as well as managing communication with clients and professional partners.
We expect you to be based at Cross Keys House, where, in addition to the client facing aspects of the role, you will spend significant time liaising with our team of volunteers. You will need to be comfortable managing volunteers in premises therefore experience leading teams would be of benefit.
We are a small, dynamic and focused team and therefore being proactive, utilising problem solving skills and a commitment to delivering high quality support to our clients is essential. We are excited to have a new member of the team bring their experience to ALCS and work collaboratively within/across our teams.
