3.Nikki Frankum –  Integrative Counsellor

Hi my name is Nikki, I am an integrative counsellor, a mother of adult children and a lover of dogs. I have worked in a coaching or therapeutic role for over 15 years and have experience in working with trauma, bereavement and loss ,illness,  relationship issues, addictions, anxiety and panic attacks to mention a few.  I am pleased to join the lovely team of therapists who work with  Axminster and Lyme Cancer support.

Engaging in personal therapy can be a challenging process, I believe the most important indicator of therapeutic success is the relationship and trust between the therapist and the client. Choosing a therapist you feel comfortable and connected with is key. I am happy to have a chat with any potential clients to help you decide if I am the therapist for you.

I hold a warm and compassionate space for you to check in with how you are really feeling beneath the polite and standard I’m fine, or I’m ok responses. There is no judgment, all feelings you are experiencing are valid and will be heard. I do understand that embarking on the therapeutic journey and perhaps speaking things for the first time takes courage and it is my hope to guide you through your journey to feel more connected, understood and supported in times of isolation, confusion, despair and uncertainty. Giving you both a space to talk and tools to manage your feelings.

I work in an integrative way, drawing from many therapeutic theories and tailoring the sessions to meet your individual needs. Uncovering and bringing into awareness deep seated beliefs and  thoughts that may be preventing you from living the life and making the choices you want to make or coming to term with situations beyond your control.

I look forward to meeting and working with you should you select me as your therapist. nikkifcounselling@gmail.com To discuss a referral please contact Mary@axminsterandlymecancersupport.co.uk

3. Ali Hampton BSc NutMed, Dip iridol, MSc Animal Nutrition. BANT, CNHC

In 2006, I embarked on a nutritional medicine course with Plaskett College and the University of West London. My unresolved digestive issues led me to my journey in nutrition, during which, I became fascinated with the art of iridology and studied this alongside.

During my 12 years as a practitioner, many of my clients were under treatment for chronic health disorders and needed nutritional support. I gained a particular interest in cancer therapy and prevention.

I moved to Devon with my family in 2023 to lead a self-sufficient lifestyle and have since qualified as an animal nutritionist.

It’s very fulfilling to help people become healthier and happier, and I’m very grateful for every opportunity.

Looking forward to hearing from you

4. A Cup of Tea – Anonymous

When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.

There is magic in its fragrance,
There is solace in its taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.

And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There’s beauty as you’ll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.

4 immunity tips for healthy ageing | Dr. Jenna Macciochi

Over the last two years, there’s been a rise in “immune-boosting” foods, supplements and trends. Today’s guest, immunologist Dr. Jenna Macciochi, believes the immune system doesn’t need boosting. Instead, it should be balanced. In this episode, Jenna – a Senior Lecturer in Immunology at the University of Sussex – reveals how your immune system is your body’s housekeeper. Jenna highlights the case for the ‘good bugs’ in our gut microbiome, the role of micronutrients and how our immune system isn’t born, but made. We’ll also tackle an age-old question: do we really need Vitamin C supplements to stave off a common cold?
