Fungi – Web of Life – A link to the BBC version of this interesting documentary Much of life on earth is connected by a vast, hidden network that we are only just beginning to understand. Out of sight, between the world of plants and animals, another realm exists – the kingdom of fungi.

Passionate biologist and writer Merlin Sheldrake travels the globe, exploring the secret world of fungi. Through dazzling images of fungi under the microscope and all around us in the forest, Merlin unravels the many secrets of these essential organisms. So much more than mushrooms, not only do fungi shape the weather and support life on land, they are also at the cutting edge of medical research and even have the power to break down plastic waste.

This film takes us from the ancient Tasmanian Tarkine rainforest to the mystical wilds of China’s Yunnan Province, in search of solutions to some of our planet’s biggest challenges. Can the answers be found in the wonderful world of fungi?

You serve no one by shrinking
Hiding your wings impedes those
That would otherwise fly
Time to burn bright
And light the way
For others to see their path
Walk on the edge of possibility
Go out loud, leave it all out there
Who are you saving what’s left for
Tomorrow there will be more
Where all that came from
Walk on the edge where the fire burns
Don’t be afraid to catch fire
Let others see you burn bright
Enabling them to find their fire.

We are delighted to announce that Daisy Blue Delights will once again be providing us with fabulous food and beverages.
New for this year is the availability of the Pool tables, dart board and even the Skittle Alley of the Sports and Social Club should you wish to have a go.
We are a friendly welcoming group, so whether on two, three or four wheels or even on foot please come down and say Hello.

Our bra recycling scheme takes your unwanted or unloved bras and through our network of bra banks raises vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research.

Together with our recycling partners, our textile recovery project prevents these bras going into landfill before giving them a new lease of life.

Successful ventures like this provide employment and an income for people living in the UK. Any bras that are genuinely beyond redemption are dismantled and disposed of properly.

For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund our research. With over 30 million women in the UK you could really help make a difference!
